Hot Water Cylinder Installation
In Spalding & Surrounding Areas.

If your hot water tank is old, inefficient, or not meeting your household’s needs, Louis Greetham Plumbing & Heating can help with expert hot water cylinder installation in Spalding. We supply and fit both vented and unvented hot water cylinders, so you get the ideal system for your home. Whether you need a direct hot water tank with an electric immersion heater or an indirect cylinder connected to your boiler, our experienced plumbers will install it safely and correctly.
Upgrading to a modern hot water cylinder offers several benefits. New cylinders are better insulated to reduce heat loss, keeping water hot longer and improving energy efficiency. Unvented (pressurised) cylinders can deliver stronger water pressure for showers and taps since they feed directly from the mains. Our team is qualified to install unvented systems that require special safety measures, so you can enjoy high-pressure hot water safely. We can also advise on the right capacity (in litres) for your household, so you never run out of hot water even at peak times.
- Based in Spalding, we also serve Peterborough and surrounding areas including Pinchbeck, Bourne, Holbeach, Stamford, Boston, and Long Sutton.

We manage the entire installation process, including removing any old tank, fitting necessary valves and pipework, and thoroughly testing the new cylinder. All work is done to meet UK safety standards and plumbing regulations. Our goal is to give you a reliable hot water supply with minimal disruption. After installation, we’ll check that your hot water is flowing properly throughout your home and that thermostats and safety controls are functioning correctly.
You might consider a replacement if your current cylinder is over 10–15 years old, if it’s leaking or showing signs of corrosion, or if you frequently run out of hot water. Upgrading can also be beneficial to improve water pressure or efficiency if your tank is an older model with poor insulation.
A vented cylinder (traditional style) is fed by a cold water tank (usually in the loft) and relies on gravity, whereas an unvented cylinder is connected directly to the mains water supply and is sealed. Unvented cylinders provide higher pressure hot water and don’t require a loft tank, but they have pressure relief valves and safety devices since they operate under higher pressure. Vented cylinders are simpler but may give lower water pressure at outlets.
Yes. Our installers have the necessary training and certifications to fit unvented hot water cylinders safely. In the UK, plumbers need a special qualification to install unvented systems due to the safety considerations (such as handling the expansion pressure and installing safety valves). We are fully qualified to perform these installations in compliance with regulations.
Typically, a straightforward cylinder replacement can be completed within half a day to a full day. The exact time depends on the complexity – for example, installing a larger unvented cylinder or altering pipework might take longer than swapping in a similar-sized vented tank. We will give you an estimated timeframe when we plan the installation.
Our team is based in Spalding but we also serve clients in Peterborough and surrounding areas such as Bourne, Holbeach, Stamford, Boston, and Long Sutton. If you’re in any of these areas and need a new hot water cylinder, we can accommodate your needs promptly.
EXCELLENT Based on 39 reviews Posted on Suzy Thomas22/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Louis recently fitted me a new boiler and I can give him nothing but praise. It was a difficult job as my central heating system is extremely confusing and is always a bit of a nightmare to work on but Louis and his assistant worked hard all day staying on into the evening to complete the job. Louis took time to explain fully how to operate all the controls as well as clearing away the old boiler, pipe work and other old parts. He obviously takes pride in his work and is a very pleasant person to deal with. He returned very promptly when I had another issue that needed sorting out and his prices seem extremely reasonable for the quality of work he provides.Posted on julia rae11/12/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very professional, prompt, neat workmanship.Posted on Colin Sheridan20/11/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I phoned Louis because my heating stopped working. He told me to send an email and that he would be round in 30 mins. And he was. Rectified problem very quickly so I asked him to take a look at two Radiators that he also got working for me. Very nice polite young man. Will definitely use him again to get it servicedPosted on elaine o'keeffe20/11/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fast and very efficient. Price was very reasonable for new boiler and changing 14 radiators. Would highly recommend.Posted on Keith Ellison19/11/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic service at a fair price. Making contact with Louis was quick and easy. The engineer arrived early on the arranged day and was very polite, informative, and helpful, (even with my two crazy dogs that wouldn't leave him alone🤣). I had a booster pump and Hive system fitted and the engineer explained everything about how it all worked. When he left, there was no mess at all, as if he had never been. I can highly recommend Louis Greetham Plumbing, and we already have plans for them to do some more work for us.Posted on Richard Grange17/11/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We needed a full central heating switch (back boiler, cylinder, roof tank and radiator removal and installation and supply of new rads and boiler). Louis talked through the work needed, products to be supplied and costs. An excellent price for such a big job! Organised the date and arrived bright and early each day (with Pete his extremely experienced right hand man), cracked on but took time out to explain and demonstrate why they were doing what they were doing. They went way beyond what I’d expected, even fitting a towel rail and new gas supply for a hob in between the central heating changeover. Nothing is too much trouble for them! Very prompt, tidy and professional - can’t recommend Louis enough for any job needed!Posted on John Rose11/11/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Louis came out to sort our issue left by previous plumbers and arrived at short notice and did the job to a very good standard. Many thanks John.Posted on David Warnes21/10/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nice tidy boiler replacement carried out by Louis and his mate Pete. Right from the initial contact Louis was professional and new exactly what upgrade would suit me best. Excellent pricing, very tidy work and can't fault any part of the install. Highly recommend you try his services and quite honestly if I could give more than 5 stars I wouldPosted on Jack Cunnington27/09/2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly recommend Louis for a hard-working, diligent plumber that gets the job done quick, clean and well. Thanks Louis and Pete for coming out on a Saturday to fit a new boiler, only a week after the first phone call 👍Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
